New decade offers opportunity to look back. And forward.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Sierra Neurosurgery Group. Three decades providing exceptional spine and brain care. Three decades of teaching, mentoring and learning. Three decades of caring for our community.

In 1980, our founding partners, Dr. William Dawson and Dr. Joseph Walker, probably couldn't imagine what would unfold in the coming years. They, and colleague Dr. John Davis, helped define the standards for neurosurgical care in northern Nevada. 30 years after they set up shop our patients tell us we're doing a great job with 99% expressing satisfaction with their care.

From that partnership, Sierra Neurosurgery Group has grown to include nine board certified neurosurgeons supported by two nurse practitioners, a physician assistant and a staff of over 40. We have specialists in brain tumor treatment, complex spine surgery, pediatric neurosurgery and artificial disc replacement. Our surgeons continue to stay on the cutting edge of this dynamic and ever-evolving field becoming experts in the latest treatments and providing our patients with the very best options for their care.

After 30 years, we're just getting started. This year we will move into larger, more modern offices in south Reno. We are providing our patients with even more options for their care with surgery offered at two hospitals and at an outpatient surgery center. We are partnering with others in the community to bring even more resources to our patients (stay tuned for more on this).

One thing that has not changed in 30 years is our commitment to patient-focused care tailored to the individual. No matter how much we change, we will continue to provide each patient with the individualized treatment they deserve ensuring them the best quality of life possible.
