Dr. Leppla explains Lumbar Spinal Stenosis

David Leppla, MD of Sierra Neurosurgery Group gave an educational lecture on lumbar spinal stenosis, September 16, at Renown Regional Medical Center's Mack Auditorium. In this video, Dr. Leppla explains the degenerative condition and discusses treatment options, then takes questions from the crowd.

Spinal stenosis is a narrowing inside the spinal canal, usually a result of age and spine degeneration. The lack of space puts pressure on spinal nerves, causing irritation and inflammation. Spinal stenosis usually causes back pain and leg pain that comes and goes with activities, such as walking.
