June 5, 2007 – Board-certified neurosurgeon David C. Leppla, MD, has been appointed partner at Sierra Neurosurgery Group. Dr. Leppla joined Sierra Neurosurgery Group in 2005 with prior experience in rural Massachusetts and Redding, California.
"Dr. Leppla brought impressive experience and insight to Sierra Neurosurgery Group," said Dr. Joseph Walker, managing partner. "His fellowship experience allows him to tackle the most complex spine surgeries and we are pleased to welcome Dr. Leppla in his new role of partner."
Dr. Leppla’s training includes Kyphoplasty, an innovative treatment that inflates degenerating vertebrae with a small balloon to return them to a more normal height and shape.
Dr. Leppla graduated with his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Leppla is Fellowship Trained in Spine and is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Leppla will continue seeing patients in Reno, Carson City and other Northern Nevada satellite offices operated by the Sierra Neurosurgery Group.
Dr. Leppla and his wife, Jacqueline, live in Reno with their three children.
