Alleviating pain, restoring strength, helping people regain meaningful neurological function – the potential of neurosurgery to transform a patient’s life is what motivates and inspires Dr. Deven Khosla.

Dr. Khosla believes that listening to the patient is the critical first step in understanding how to best help them. Taking the time to diagnose patients correctly enables him to prescribe the most effective treatments. This includes non-surgical interventions first for conditions that warrant that approach. He utilizes a team approach calling on the expertise of other neurosurgeons in Sierra Neurosurgery Group, physical therapists, pain anesthesiologists, interventional radiologists and Physiatrists to meet patient needs and try to maximize the probability of not needing surgery.

Dr. Khosla’s surgical skills include the use of minimally invasive techniques to alleviate patient’s pain and neurological deficits. He is skilled in treating the full spectrum of neurosurgical disorders including treating complex spine deformity, adult scoliosis, spinal tumors, brain aneurysms and brain tumors. He is trained in the breakthrough artificial disc replacement procedures, both for lumbar spine, as an alternative to fusion, and for cervical spine. In collaboration with medical and radiation oncologists, Dr. Khosla is also involved in treatment of primary and metastatic spinal tumors with stereotactic radiosurgery.

Dr. Khosla graduated with his medical degree from Loyola University in Chicago Illinois. He completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center. He joined Sierra Neurosurgery Group in 2001.
