Dr. Fleming did not take a direct route to become a neurosurgeon. She was doing genetic research after receiving her Ph.D., before deciding to become a physician. During her neurosurgery rotation, she found herself instantly fascinated with the intricate workings of the nervous system and decided on a career in neurosurgery.

John S. Davis, M.D.

In 1980, Dr. Davis found a group of surgeons who shared his patient-focused approach and joined Sierra Neurosurgery Group.

Dr. Davis graduated with his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also served as a Medical Officer in the Unites States Navy.

Joseph R. Walker, M.D.

Dr. Joseph Walker, together with Dr. William Dawson, formed Sierra Neurosurgery Group in 1980. A few months later, John S. Davis MD joined the practice. 29 years later, Sierra Neurosurgery Group is the region’s oldest continuously operating group of neurosurgeons and is one of the largest groups in Nevada specializing in the treatment of brain and spinal disorders.

Dr. Dawson is one of Sierra Neurosurgery Group’s founding physicians. In 1980 he and Dr. Joseph Walker created Sierra Neurosurgery Group.
