If life is an adventure, then Richard Perrin, MD, FRCSC, FAANS, FACS is living it to the fullest, filled with rich cultural experiences and a passionate spirit of wanderlust. Born in Canada and raised in Sweden, Dr. Perrin’s career has taken a path few have traveled.
Beyond the side roads of America, his passion for travel and adventure has led him to remarkable locales from the heights of Machu Picchu in Peru, to the wilds of Antarctica. Whether it is hiking the pyramids in Egypt, swimming with crocodiles in the Zambezi, or scuba diving with whale sharks off the coast of Oman, his extraordinary experiences serve to enrich his equally extraordinary talent.
Renowned in his field for both brain and spine surgery, Dr. Perrin dedicated himself to his patients and community at John Muir Medical Center as a Neurosurgeon for nearly a decade while pioneering new techniques and standards in his profession.
During his tenure in California, he also achieved a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. With this additional skill set, he was uniquely qualified to embrace the opportunity to become Chief of Neurosurgery for the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi. There, Dr. Perrin was instrumental in developing the hospital’s Neurosurgery unit to serve thousands of patients in and around the United Arab Emirates.
Today, we are extremely fortunate to welcome Dr. Perrin back to America, and more importantly, his residence here in Northern Nevada at Sierra Neurosurgery Group. New experiences and adventures await his exploration here on the west coast. More importantly, his worldly expertise and dedication to excellence will benefit patients and our community for years to come.
