Innovation and expertise in spine and brain surgery

William N. Dawson

William N. Dawson, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Dawson is one of Sierra Neurosurgery Group’s founding physicians. In 1980 he and Dr. Joseph Walker created Sierra Neurosurgery Group. This successful collaboration laid the groundwork for what is today the region’s preeminent neurosurgical practice – a practice that has stayed true to its founders’ vision of patient-focused care.

Drawn to neurosurgery because of its complexity and intricacy, Dr. Dawson continually seeks the newest and most innovative approaches in neurosurgical care. He specializes in the use of stereotactic radiosurgery to treat brain tumors and tic douloureux and in one of just three northtern Nevada surgeons trained to treat brain tumors with the Cyberknife radiosurgery system.

Dr. Dawson graduated with his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship at Emory University and Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
