Reno, NV (March 22, 2011) – Dr. Deven Khosla of Sierra Neurosurgery Group joined students at Roy Gomm elementary school for Brain Awareness Week. With him were three very enthralling objects in Ziploc bags, one in a sealed box and two in test tubes–human brains, a human skull, a chicken brain and a mouse brain.

Dr. Khosla visited 3rd and 4th graders at Roy Gomm to talk about brain function, brain injury and how to keep your brain safe when taking part in at-risk behaviors like bike riding, snowboarding and football. Dr. Khosla was joined by UNR neuroscience and biology major Dixie Tailor.

Dr. Deven Khosla and Sierra Neurosurgery Group provide educational services like this public school visit in order to promote a healthy community. Sierra Neurosurgery Group is the region’s largest and longest standing practice specializing in the treatment of spine and brain disorders.
