David C. Leppla, MD, FAANS

Dr. Leppla joined Sierra Neurosurgery Group in 2005 after practicing on both coasts – rural Massachusetts and Redding, California. At Sierra Neurosurgery Group he found a group of talented, experienced, like-minded surgeons focused on finding the best solutions for their patients – an environment where he knew he could do his best work.

With Fellowship Training in Spine, Dr. Leppla has an incredible base of knowledge for treating complex spine problems. His experience includes Kyphoplasty, an innovative treatment that inflates degenerating vertebrae with a small balloon to return them to a more normal height and shape.

Dr. Leppla graduated with his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He is Board Certified in neurosurgery and Fellowship Trained in Spine. Dr. Leppla is currently Chief of Neurosurgery at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
